The Influence of the Powder Characteristics on 316L Stainless Steel Coatings Sprayed by Cold Gas Spray

چکیده

Thermally sprayed 316L stainless steel coatings are commonly used on metallic structures due to their corrosion and wear resistance when compared carbon steel. Cold Gas Spray (CGS) is a convenient thermal spray process deposit coatings, producing thick very dense with almost no deleterious changes the feedstock properties coating condition. The powder characteristics have influence microstructure of coating, such as porosity oxide contents, which alter its behavior. CGS an efficient technique reduce problems associated material melting found in other conventional methods. In this work, different powders, produced by manufacturers, were deposited CGS, applying same equipment parameters, objective evaluate relation between powders’ properties. Their microstructure, adherence, hardness, well performance testing evaluated. water atomized powders presented general better results than gas powders.

The crystallization temperature, thermal expansion coefficient of mica glass-ceramic were at 900ºC and 40× 10−7/◦C respectively.
